Koi Ayvalık

Being near the center was handy, but getting there along the roads wasn’t easy. The room itself was okay, though old and quick to get dirty, and there was no air conditioning. I stayed three nights without the room being cleaned or fresh bathroom towels being offered. The shared bathroom was a real inconvenience. Some days I waited a long time for a shower, and at checkout I was told at 10:45 that I had to leave by 11, despite the 12:00 checkout listed on otelz.com. Other guests had been using the bathroom for a while, so I left without getting a shower. There was also a lot of noise, including from the phone and the owner, even at night, and I was often woken up. The owner seemed cheerful and nice, but counted every cent. She sometimes asked questions without seeming to care about the answers. She doesn’t speak English, though she seemed to understand what she wanted and spoke English when she wanted to. Also, this was the first place where my passport wasn’t checked when I arrived.

There were five of us, and we all had a great stay. Mr. Kaan was especially helpful and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a lovely view, enough space, hot water, and fresh towels. I’d stay here again next time I’m in Ayvalik.

The owners’ attention and the home they designed really stood out. It’s a perfect spot to rest, and I have no doubt I’ll come back. Thanks for everything.
