Selinos Otel Bergama

It took a little effort to find, but the trip was worth it. The hotel gets you out of town and into the countryside, and the local people running it were pleasant, friendly, and cordial.

A lovely view and a delicious breakfast.

The view was nice, but the breakfast area was freezing. The food on the table was all cold, almost icy, and although they said tea was unlimited, the clips on both thermoses were broken, so we could barely pour a drink. A samovar would have worked much better. They should also put a stove or fireplace in the middle of the room to warm it up. The place felt very amateurishly run. We had to go from room to room to pay the bill, and after finding out it was part of the hotel, I didn’t even want to imagine what the service was like there. I disliked both the service and the breakfast. We paid a lot and didn’t get our money’s worth.

The portions were so generous that what was served for two could have fed three, with some left over. The large plates had sun-dried tomatoes, dulce de leche, cheese with peppers, and a savory green vegetable cake-like dish. Those were my favorites.
