World Point Reis Hotel Istanbul

The rooms are spacious, and ours had a lovely Juliet balcony that we could open to enjoy the view. The hotel has a traditional Turkish feel. We had a lovely stay, with delicious food in the restaurant and great staff. At reception, Adam and Samet were welcoming and professional. They were always happy to help with questions about tours and shopping centers to visit. Thank you, keep up the great work. We’re Australian visitors.

After a 20-hour trip from the US, I arrived late and asked to see the room before confirming a booking. It was 10:30 pm. The manager said it was too late and told me I could buy the room and come back if I didn’t like it. He was arrogant and talked down to me, so I left. Poor customer service, and a bad mark on Istanbul tourism.

The air conditioner in our room didn’t work, which made the stay uncomfortable. Breakfast was also quite limited, and with my egg allergy I couldn’t find much to eat. The staff weren’t as friendly or helpful as I’d expect from a hospitality business. They changed the sheets and replenished the water bottles, but I was charged an extra guest fee for my three-month-old baby. The baby slept in my bed and needed no extra bedding or amenities, so the charge felt unreasonable. It also wasn’t made clear in advance. Our experience at World Point Hotel was average, with service and guest comfort needing improvement.

Breakfast was decent and the hotel itself was okay. The reception staff were brilliant, friendly, and very helpful. The spa, though, was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The staff member was extremely rude, wouldn’t turn on the lights, and left us sitting in the dark before shouting at us. She kept pushing us to buy massages, making the whole visit uncomfortable. It wasn’t the relaxing spa setting you’d expect.
