Galata Palace

We took 3 rooms, and each one was worse than the last. The bathrooms were full of mold, things in the rooms were broken, and there was no complimentary coffee or water. It was the dirtiest, worst hotel I’ve ever seen. They seemed to have done no maintenance at all. I’ve stayed in hostels and 1 star hotels that were much neater than this jail cell of a place. My advice is to avoid this so-called hotel.

The reservation agent was the only part I’d give 3 stars. The hotel itself was a complete mess, and I don’t recommend it. Our 3 rooms were so dirty and smelled bad, the AC didn’t work, the bathrooms were filthy, wall sockets had been pulled out, drawers were broken, and the sheets looked like someone had used them before us. We checked another 3 rooms hoping for something cleaner, but each was worse. We couldn’t stay longer than 2 hours. This place doesn’t come close to the photos the hotel posted. It’s the sort of place to hit and run. Be careful.

We chose the hotel for its central location for a weekend away, but my wife and I could only manage one night. The room was dirty and untidy, the towels were torn and filthy, and we couldn’t sleep well. The staff were amateurish and unfriendly. It was a terrible stay, and I’d never recommend this hotel.

The room barely had a bed, just two mattresses stacked on top of each other, and the decor was broken. I stayed for 5 days with an air conditioner that never worked. Each day they said they’d move me and that a technician was coming, but neither happened. First of all, the staff were rude and racist.
