Grand Hotel Basaran

We spent two nights here, with a comfortable room and pretty good breakfast. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and the staff were very helpful. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, though, and street parking was difficult, especially arriving in the evening.

Honestly, this hotel deserves more than three stars. The room has a massage chair, and the bathtub is amazing, with lights, music, and several options. Everything was very clean, and the welcome was generous and warm. Breakfast was fresh and good, with a nice range to choose from.

The location is central, with plenty of places to eat nearby. We had a car and used it to visit nearby museums, towns like sogut, and the graveyards of people such as ertugrul gazi and edebali. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the décor, room quality, showroom, and balcony were lovely. The showers have built-in radio, lights, and a massager. The hotel is grand, but the spa and hamam are closed, which was one of our main reasons for booking. They have remained closed since COVID, even though the website and booking sites still advertise them. Staff didn’t sound like they expected them to open soon. If you want to use the spa, I’d call before booking. Breakfast was poor, with limited choices, and the bread had run out a couple of times when we arrived near the end of breakfast.

The breakfast was poor and the same each day, Wi-Fi was very slow, the rooms were noisy, and the restaurant and hamam still weren’t open. Still, we enjoyed our stay at Basaran. The owner was very nice and helpful, and we liked the location, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and the rooms themselves.
