Anadolu Hotel Bodrum - All Inclusive

The man parking cars outside was very rude to us. He even came over and tried to intimidate me and my girlfriend because we parked across the street. It was really disrespectful. We had planned to book a few nights, but luckily we didn't. The place looked very different from the pictures online.

We had to organize shifts for the pool sunbeds because they were all claimed by 8 a.m. The food was okay, though getting pizza depended on whether the guy making it liked you. Back in the room, there was just one keycard, so it was around 40 degrees when we returned. The place is advertised as being in Bodrum, but it's actually in Gumbet, by the harbor. The area smelled bad enough that none of us used the hotel beach. The hotel felt about 50 years old, and it still seemed dirty despite the daily cleaning. Our room was a gamble: we had to beg for a toilet seat and a curtain over the glass upper half of the door, which let the sunrise wake you. There were baby lizards in the room too. And getting to the toilet meant climbing over the bed, unless you got lucky. This is no four-star hotel. It feels more like a Turkish metalworkers' union rest area. I could go on, but that probably says enough.

The beach and the water were dirty, and they cleared away all the sunbeds and shut the beach at 6 p.m. Food was repetitive, with queues to get it. By breakfast time in the afternoon, there often wasn't enough left for everyone, even after waiting for hours. Our room was small, dirty, and crawling with ants. The pool was unclean too, and I suspect the dirt there may have made my child sick. A terrible, disappointing place.

The room felt like a nightmare, and I was asked for $20 at reception the next day after the lights went out. They said the room had been given to me with the lights on, so turning them off was my responsibility. When I asked reception for help with the Wi-Fi, they refused to move me and didn't seem interested because I'd already paid. I booked online through "Tatil Bu Dur (Scam - far away from them)," but the room didn't match the website pictures. It was old and dirty, with mold in the bathroom and a broken shower handle. There was only one outlet, and the bed was full size rather than queen size. Travelers to Bodrum should be careful to find a legitimate hotel. Avoid this place at all costs.
