Berg Otel

The beach was just a 5-minute walk away, and the view was amazing. My room was super clean, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I also had my dry cleaning done the same day. When I arrived, they were celebrating a birthday and surprised me with a complimentary dinner, such a sweet gesture. They even helped book a cab for me at checkout. I absolutely loved my stay here and highly recommend it!

The views are drop dead gorgeous, the staff are super friendly, and restaurants and supermarkets are close by. The location is decent. But I wouldn’t return or recommend it, mainly because of the cleanliness and breakfast. I work in the hotel industry, so cleanliness matters a lot to me. I stayed for 3 weeks, and they’d known the arrival date and time almost 3 weeks ahead, so I thought someone would at least give the room a quick look. It hadn’t been properly cleaned. The headboards were full of dust and took me about 10 minutes to wipe down, the fridge was filthy, and there were splatter marks on the wall near it. A big fluff or dust ball sat just outside my room for 3 days. You can see what I mean in some of the pictures enclosed. Cleanliness doesn’t seem to be their priority, which seems to be a thing in Turkey. I’m not too sure why this place has such a high rating. I had things to do in Bodrum during my 3 weeks there, and wanted a light but filling breakfast with some variety. Instead it felt like lunch, with salad, olives, egg, cooked chips, and bread. I understand traditions and local customs, but I only ate about 6/7 of the breakfasts. Maybe it’s different in summer. I just don’t understand. It is what it is.

The rooftop bar and patios have top notch views, and Mr Mithat was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was top notch, and we had a very comfortable stay at Berg Otel. I gave it 4 stars because the wifi didn’t work for us.

We didn’t even realize breakfast was included when we booked, so the generous Turkish spread was a great surprise. There was unlimited limonade and tea, and they asked if we wanted more eggs, cheese, olives, or anything else. The service was fantastic. The rooms were clean, and the air conditioning was a welcome break from the heat. Breg Otel was honestly the highlight of our time in Bodrum. The owners are a lovely family who put their hearts into running the B&B and making guests feel at home. Their employees were just as charming and hospitable. I’ve rarely met people so generous, kind, and welcoming. It’s a well located spot, about a 3 minute walk to a Dolmush that goes directly to Bodrum city center, around a 10 mins ride. There are 5 or 6 big nightclubs nearby for anyone who likes to party, but we didn’t hear music or noise from them in our room. The atmosphere at Berg Otel was cozy and relaxed. I definitely recommend it, and if I come to Bodrum again, that’s where I’ll stay.
