The café was the standout for me. Kırlangıç Cafe has toast, mantı, köfte and French fries, and somehow everything tastes natural and incredibly good. I've never eaten better anywhere else. The music and view are wonderful, and the people running it are lovely. I've never sat in a café this beautiful in Turkey. It has no rival. You really should experience the atmosphere, and stay at the hotel just for the café if you like. Be sure to watch the sunset from there. The hotel serves breakfast, but not lunch or dinner. Its pool is cleaned and maintained every day, is hygienic and a good size, with umbrellas and sun loungers beside it. Prices are reasonable, and the hotel is extremely good value. It's six floors, counting ground level as 0, with floors 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and -1. Rooms are on floors 2, 3 and 4. Management is on the first floor above ground, and there's also a dean's office because the hotel is affiliated with the university. Burhaniye Applied Sciences School Applied Hotel, usually called BUBYO Applied Hotel, operates within Balıkesir University. Bubyo Hotel also hosts Burhaniye Applied Sciences Vocational School and Burhaniye Faculty of Applied Sciences (BUBFA). As far as I understand, students in the four-year undergraduate Tourism Management program and the two-year associate degree Tourism and Hotel Management program work here. You can see Balıkesir University and BUBFA logos all over. The student employees and other staff are polite and kind, like a family. The students work very hard and do their best. I definitely recommend Burhaniye and BUBYO. Honestly, I've been coming every summer for about 4-5 years and plan to keep coming.

This is a cute, large school hotel, with plenty of parking. The bed was firm and comfortable, and the views were nice. But you can't reach the lobby without climbing two flights of stairs, and carrying luggage up them was a pain. I'm not sure what the architect was thinking 🤔. The air conditioning didn't work, so I cracked the balcony door open. Wind came in because the door didn't fit tightly. There was no soundproofing at all, I could hear the people next door talking as if they were in my room. The bathroom and fixtures were moldy, and wiring was exposed. Breakfast came in fixed portions, and there was no filtered coffee, only tea. It must have been a government-granted contract to a builder connected to the administration.

The secure parking makes this a good choice if you're traveling by motorbike, which was the main thing I appreciated. I stayed one night, outside the season, when it was cheaper. The hotel is clean and a little outside the city centre. Outside summer, they only serve breakfast, but you can order food in. For an older hotel, I found it a bit overpriced. Wind noise is another issue because the room door doesn't seal properly. In season it will be more expensive, but it's still a decent option if you can't find somewhere cheaper and better.

The staff acted as if they were more entitled to use the lifts than the guests. The facilities were poor, and the tired, dated rooms didn't seem to get cleaned. One star is generous. We definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
