Bursa City Hotel

The food was great, and the room felt cozy and nice. I think we got an upgrade, which was really nice, and our room looked out onto the street. I’d definitely come back. I’m happy here :)

The view over the streets was nice, and I liked the sofas on the stair landings between floors. Breakfast had a decent range, but dinner wasn’t worth it: just a bad, floury soup with some rice and chicken. Restaurant staff kept asking for tips and staring at us throughout the meal, which made me feel more unwelcome there than anywhere else during my stay in Turkey. The room had throw-up stains all over the floor. The A/C barely worked, so it was too hot, while opening the window was too noisy. Water sprayed everywhere from a hole in the showerhead. One bedside lamp didn’t work, and another flashed every 5-10 seconds all night. It was horrible.

The weather here is very cool, so the aircon is set to heat. If you want cool air, just open the window.

The location is the one good thing about this place. The rooms were dark and dirty, right down to the sheets, pillowcases, and pillows. I wish I hadn’t had that experience, and I wouldn’t stay here again even if I were paid. I don’t recommend it. One star only for the location.
