The lake behind the hotel was beautiful and peaceful, and renting a bike made it easy to enjoy the scenery and watch the ducks. We booked the larger room, which had lovely decor, a soft bed, and very comfortable pillows. It stayed warm, and the bathroom hamam came with kese, peştemal, and soap. The staff were welcoming and helpful, so I’d happily come back. Just remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, since none were provided.

The historic building and lobby are lovely, and I liked the vintage look of the room. But ours was very damp and had an awful moldy smell that lingered even after we shut the bathroom door, where the fragrance was overpowering. When I put water in the fridge, I found mold inside. The mattress cover was torn, the table was stained, and the handle was broken, although the room otherwise seemed clean. I’m worried about the hygiene here and regret choosing this hotel. With that smell, I can’t help wondering if there was more mold behind the bed or other furniture where we couldn’t see it.

We only spent one night here, but it was my favorite place to stay during our visit to Turkey. Such a distinctive, charming hotel.

The park setting is fantastic, and the staff were really helpful. Inside, the rooms are roomy and full of charm, with a character that’s hard to match. We ate very well too. Highly recommended.

Nearly 20 years had passed since my last visit, but the place still has all its charm. We loved the grand four-poster bed and canopy, along with the very a la Turca futon. We enjoyed everything about the hotel all over again.
