Petek Hotel

With no hostels in town, the value for money is good, and the staff were attentive and lovely, 10/10. Breakfast was nice too. The location is perfect. The rooms need work, though. The floor is old and looks really dirty, and the toilet was only half-cleaned, with shit splattered on the wall. I ended up cleaning it myself, since the shower was right there. There was also an old, useless TV with cables hanging around. Getting rid of it would make the room look better. The wifi should actually work, and the bed and pillows could be replaced with a cheap new foam set. This place could be a gem if they'd put a little effort into the rooms and cleanliness.

The toilet and shower share a very cramped space, which was the part I didn't like. Still, for a budget-friendly hotel, there are plenty of good points: the location is perfect, near the town centre, bazaar, and other tourist attractions. The staff welcomed us warmly, and breakfast was fine. I'm giving it 4 stars because the people were so friendly, and I hope they improve the toilets to bring in more customers.

The main problem wasn't the modest standard of the hotel. We knew what we were booking for the price, and an old room or furniture is fine, but the rooms needed a proper deep clean. After we arrived, our reservation wasn't on their list. When I reminded them, they went to clean rooms that weren't ready yet, but they still weren't clean enough. We didn't make a big deal of the booking mistake, since that can happen. We had booked three rooms. Two air conditioners worked fine, but the one in the third room wasn't cooling at all, and the temperature inside was the same as outside. The staff wouldn't even come look. When we kept insisting, they argued with us unprofessionally, as if we were lying, despite our detailed explanation. I even had to explain that a higher temperature means it's hotter, not colder. AC problems can happen and take time to fix. What upset me was the disrespect and indifference. They could have explained their view in a way that made us feel welcome. While I tried to explain my side, one staff member said racist things about my whole race. That's unacceptable. If this is how they treat everyone, they're going to lose customers.

Kader welcomed me so warmly, and the staff were nice throughout. The hotel is in a nice location in beautiful Bursa, and I felt safe and welcome. I'd highly recommend staying here and will choose it again on my next visit. Mohammed Qudaih
