Ayder Vanak Stone Suites

We had a terrible stay in Ayder and I still haven’t received a refund. We were a family of four, with boys aged 6 and 2.5, booked into a one-bedroom chalet for three nights. The property looked new, but it was filthy. The children slept downstairs, and around midnight my wife and I went upstairs and found lots of tiny bugs coming out of the floor and on the bedsheets. The upstairs was unlivable. I contacted the property manager, who confirmed they were bedbugs and sent a cleaning team at midnight. We were concerned because our older child has asthma. The manager promised an odorless spray, and after a long drive we reluctantly agreed. Four people arrived, changed the sheets, and vacuumed. Then the manager, who had only been speaking with me by phone, came into our room without knocking and started spraying upstairs with a product that smelled strong and unpleasant. Our children woke up coughing, and our older son had a severe reaction and needed his emergency inhaler. We decided to leave the next morning and asked for a full refund. The manager arrogantly offered either a room change the next morning or a move right away to another property owned by her friend. Neither option was acceptable, so I insisted on leaving and getting a refund. She eventually agreed but said I’d have to handle it through Booking.com. After our vacation, I contacted Booking.com and learned the manager had not approved the refund, so they couldn’t proceed without her approval. I’ve been stuck going back and forth between her and Booking.com without a resolution. I still haven’t received the refund and probably never will. I’m writing this to warn others about our awful experience.
