Kale Kaya Otel

The hotel seems to have been renovated recently, and the wooden style is nice. Our room was okay and the bed was comfortable, but we got a much smaller room than the three-bed room we’d booked, with no explanation. It was hard to ask even basic questions because the staff spoke very little English. Dinner was disappointing too, just köfte and fried potatoes, and they charged us 1,300 TL for it. They called that a discounted price, though I have no idea what the full price would’ve been. Breakfast wasn’t much better: two small pieces of cheese, two eggs, a few vegetables, potatoes left over from dinner that we couldn’t finish, and bread that wasn’t very fresh. The Wi-Fi barely worked in the room. I got it going briefly after restarting the router, but it remained unreliable. The shower temperature kept swinging from boiling hot to freezing cold, so it was hard to relax. The hospitality felt a bit superficial. There are some nice touches and potential here, but too many problems for us to enjoy the stay or recommend it without reservations.

It was probably the hottest day Çamlıhemşin had ever had, so we thought we’d head higher to find somewhere cooler. The road was wonderfully beautiful, and we ended up at this hotel near the very end of Fırtına River. We stayed with a close friend who’d come from Dubai with his family and my little daughter. It’s a simple, beautiful, intimate, clean, and warm family-run place. Thank you.

We were a group of seven and loved the whole stay. The hosts were wonderful and made us feel welcome right away, letting us warm up by the stove with hot chai. Breakfast was prepared with so much care, and everything was well maintained. I’d love to stay here again someday.

The view was incredible, and the staff treated us like family. It was an amazing stay. ❤️
