Daffne Otel

A quiet little guesthouse with rooms that are nicely equipped. It sits right in the liveliest, nicest part of this excellent town, and still feels peaceful.

We had a lovely stay. The host was helpful with everything, including finding us a place to park, and breakfast was delicious. The hotel is peaceful even though it’s in the busy, noisy city centre. It’s right in the heart of Çanakkale, with almost everything within walking distance.

The room looked recently renovated, though much of it felt worn and poorly maintained. The bathroom was cramped, and the air conditioner was noisy, even if it worked fine. Breakfast was ridiculous. The hotel is small and centrally located in Çanakkale, but getting there by car was a nightmare, with nowhere to park nearby. Fine for one night, but I’ll definitely choose another hotel next time.

We could hear people in other rooms coming and going, flushing toilets, and even lifting or lowering toilet seats, so the rooms weren’t soundproofed. The A/C was loud too, and its LED was so bright it could have been a night light. There was no hot water at the bathroom sink, and no slippers. At check-in they offered water, coffee, and tea, though the listing on Hotels.com also promised bottled water, which we didn’t get. It advertised a free 24-hour airport shuttle, but we had to pay for a taxi. The location is great, with everything close enough to walk to, and the outside has cute decor, but the rooms themselves are very simple and basic.
