Hotel Kervansaray Canakkale - Special Class

The hotel is close to the Clock Tower, and since Çanakkale center isn't large, parking a short walk away is manageable. Getting there by car is limited, though, and there isn't much parking. The hotel shares its garden with a restaurant, so guests don't really have an open area to sit and relax, and the restaurant serves dinner customers there. The red brick building is beautiful, with a tiny French-stair entrance. Our room may originally have been an annex to the main building, and its three levels are linked by steep stairs. That was a bit tricky with a young child. The bedroom was hot and humid, and although there was AC, it didn't do much for the upper level. Some extra fans in this particular room, both bathroom and bedroom, would help.

The staff were great, and the meals were simply amazing.

The location is very good, right in the middle of all the action, but I wouldn't recommend this place for families. The bathrooms are very small, breakfast was poor, and for the price it was modest. Three bedrooms for one night cost 90€, but they tried to charge 130€, claiming each room was for one person, even though our booking clearly said 5 adults and 2 children. We had to wait for the manager to sort it out, which I didn't like. There was no parking available. They took an extra 15 lire for the car, but we had to bring it back from the parking. The car was scratched, and I had to pay the rental company. It may suit singles better.

The room was small, but the bed was big and comfortable. There isn't hotel parking, though they have an arrangement with a lot about 250 m away. Behind the main entrance is a beautiful, peaceful garden with a fountain and fresh green grass. My room had no shower cabin door, and the window curtains felt too narrow to be sufficient.
