Alacati Roka Tas Otel

We left a night early, even though we’d already paid, because the owners’ behavior and manners upset us so much. When our friend complained that their bed had broken, the owners made catty comments about us within earshot, then ignored us completely. I’ve never had an experience like this anywhere I’ve traveled, whether at a budget place or a higher-end one. I’ve never written a negative review before, but I wish the owner had been willing to hear constructive criticism instead of attacking customers. I can’t recommend this establishment, and I’ll be telling people to stay away and posting about it elsewhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if some recent reviews came from acquaintances. The room problems were shared across rooms our friends stayed in too. There were no fridges or bins, the TVs didn’t work, and nothing was complimentary. We had dirty sheets, dusty furniture, plastic hangers from various outlets, filthy bathrooms, missing toilet roll holders and towel hooks, unsafe sockets, and old, rough towels. When I raised this, the owner said I was fussy and should leave if I didn’t like it. Oddly enough, soft towels showed up that evening, and a TV was put in the communal area. That space felt like a youth hostel, with old sofas, and the hotel photos are old. Breakfast itself was very good, but tea and instant coffee were the only included drinks, and even water cost extra. The management was abhorrent, and this definitely wasn’t a boutique hotel. Book the right hotel and you won’t be disappointed, because Alaçatı is beautiful. Also, beware that Roka has changed management since 2019.
