After we checked out, I suddenly saw another $373 charged to my credit card, even though I’d specifically asked them not to charge it and they’d agreed. I called the owner, who said not to worry and promised to return the money the next day, but then stopped answering me. The Booking customer service contacted the owner. At first he said he’d investigate and take care of it. Then his story changed: he said I had booked two rooms instead of one, and later claimed I’d canceled my first reservation and that the second room cost much more. The problem started with the room I booked in the basement. It had a narrow doorway, a bad smell, and was so humid it felt like a cave. I negotiated with the staff to move rooms. They said a better room with a nice sea view was available for only two days, and asked for $400. We agreed and paid in cash. Avoid this place.

We found the host very accommodating, and breakfast was properly Turkish. Several languages are understood, so foreign guests should feel comfortable here. It’s a lovely place to unwind, close to Çeşme city center and a short drive from Alaçatı. The view is hard to beat if you book an upgraded room, so I think spending a little extra is worth it. Highly recommended!

The place is quiet, romantic, and has a great location and lovely sea views from the rooms. The staff are very friendly. I wouldn’t recommend the economy rooms, though.
