Serez Otel Alaçatı by La Mira

I found the hotel through a booking.com ad and was pleased with the service and facilities. For the price and location, the quality was good.

The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of variety, and we had such a nice stay that we wished we could have booked for longer. We made the reservation on a whim, and the hotel lived up to its good first impression. The hallway to our room was a little narrow, but it didn’t bother me. It’s just outside Alaçatı, so there’s a lovely view and plenty of peace and quiet. The barking dog next door was the one thing that bothered us, though it wasn’t really the hotel’s fault. With the balcony door shut, you can barely hear it. We’d book again!

The rooms are on the small side, but we were fine in ours. We stayed four nights and didn’t ask for cleaning, since it isn’t done routinely, but the hotel brought fresh towels when we requested them. Breakfast was made especially for us each morning, and the owner and staff were very attentive. We’d read the bad Google reviews and were hesitant to come, but had a good stay. There’s a café at the hotel where you can order and settle the bill at checkout. The hotel also has arrangements with beaches that guests can use. We didn’t try the pool, though it looked quite clean. We had no trouble with the water. It gets switched off at nine and then comes from the hotel’s tank, so I’d plan showers before nine.

The reception staff were kind, but the hotel needs renovation and the price felt high. The rooms were ordinary, and there was a strong smell in the bathroom that needs fixing. In the morning, breakfast smells came into our upstairs room and bothered me so much that we checked out right away. Cleanliness needs to improve too. It’s a long way from Alaçatı’s popular spots, so you need to drive. I also didn’t feel the building was safe: the stairs are very steep, and it would be hard to get out in an emergency. There’s no emergency exit for a fire or earthquake.
