Lake Cildir Lodge Hotel

The restaurant portions were huge, and the food was extremely tasty. The staff were so friendly and helpful that they opened the restaurant just for dinner, even though we were the only guests there. They also serve alcohol. The hotel is spacious and comfortable, built to resemble a mansion, and sits just outside town. In winter, you can see the snow-covered mountains from the rooms. I’d recommend it to anyone travelling to or around Lake Cildir.

There’s a museum in the basement with old traditional items, and the rooms and facilities were all very clean. The owner and staff were wonderful and helpful. Cildir lake mansion is an amazing place, founded by a family who wanted to give something back to their town. I’m grateful to the staff and management for such a great experience.

Our room was gorgeous, and the location was even more beautiful. We were welcomed with the kindest hospitality. Dinner was delicious, with Kaz and Manti, and breakfast was generous. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We were welcomed warmly and the staff were helpful when we arrived for our one night in June 2023. The room was large, tastefully but basically furnished, and had a kettle. The extra heater came in handy because it was quite cool. But the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, and there was rubbish in the bin from the previous guest. Hot water was another problem: there was none at the sink, and the shower worked unpredictably. The restaurant experience left a bad impression too. The girls working there got a bit unprofessional and kept trying to sell us a crocheted jumper made by Auntie. There wasn’t a menu with prices, not even a handwritten one, so we had to order from the chef’s brusque description. Breakfast was basic. We were brought a small salad and desserts we hadn’t ordered, and were told those would be charged too. Our meal, Manti, chicken şiş with rice, salad, and one beer, cost 650TL, making it the most expensive meal we ate in 10 weeks in Turkey, and certainly not because of its quality. Since there was no menu, I can’t tell whether the price was unscrupulously calculated. It made me wonder if we’d fallen victim to a scam for the first time. Overall, the stay was tainted.
