Maji Village

We’d stay here again. Our bungalow was modern and clean, with a separate bedroom, a nice balcony, a comfortable bed and good linen. The bathroom was okay and had good hot water, and the WiFi worked well. We were there for 3 nights in April, 2025. The hotel owners look after their guests well, and the place is quiet, away from car noise and crowds. There’s a lovely garden with cats and chickens, and the standard breakfast has eggs, vegetables, bread, sweets and tea. The sea is about a 15 minutes' walk away, and there are lots of bicycle rentals nearby. One thing to know is that the houses are rooms in a shared building, so you’ll have neighbors behind the wall. They also don’t provide shampoo, hygiene products or slippers, so bring those yourself.

Zelis brings a lovely Turkish breakfast to your balcony each morning, with fresh fruit, eggs, pastries, bread and more. She doesn’t speak English, but that caused us no problems. The bungalows are clean and simply set up for a quiet stay. Ours had two large rooms, a bathroom and a balcony surrounded by greenery for privacy. In the bedroom there was a king sized bed and built-in wardrobe. The living room had a fridge, TV, kettle, sofa, single bed and folding bed. The bathroom is more of a wet room, which was fine for us, and there was usually plenty of hot water. Maji Village is a small group of wooden bungalows at the back of Cirali, shaded by fruit trees and other vegetation. You need to take off your shoes before going inside, and smoking isn’t allowed on the balcony, though there are tables with ashtrays around the grounds. The resident cats were beautiful and friendly. It’s a good option if you want quiet, peaceful, simple accommodation.

We arrived at 10 pm with our two small children and suddenly had to find somewhere else to sleep. The owner canceled our stay after we asked about the accommodation, even though we said we were happy with the room we’d been shown. We’d booked a bungalow expecting a detached cabin, but the lady, who didn’t seem friendly and couldn’t speak English, showed us two rooms in a block instead. She called the owner, who could communicate in English to some extent, but he quickly became frustrated with our questions. The whole thing was incredibly stressful. I booked based on the positive reviews, affordable price and appealing photos, and I strongly recommend avoiding this place. The owner or manager seemed unreliable and unwilling to accommodate our needs. I also found several similar reviews from other guests whose stays were canceled on arrival without a good reason.
