Wyndham Datca Perili Bay

The sea here is amazing, with clean water that I found more pleasant than Marmaris or Bodrun. The beach itself is nice and has plenty of sunbeds, but the sand had quite a few cigarette filters, the tables and loungers weren't cleaned often, and the small rubbish bins smelled bad. I'd call this more of a 3.5-star hotel, and honestly I was a bit disappointed. The hotel and rooms have attractive decor and an authentic architectural feel, though they seem old and need repairs and maintenance. There were no mini soaps or shampoos, just a wall-mounted dispenser for general use. The air conditioner sits right above the bed, so it's noisy and blows straight down on you. We could only use it part of the time and were melting the rest of the time. People smoked throughout the hotel, including the dining area, bar, lounge, beach, and even inside the room. I was very surprised the hotel allowed it. The staff were friendly, but only one person at reception spoke English. The food was good, though the main courses and sides were basic and the menu never changed. Since it's all-inclusive, don't expect much from the bar or ice cream; both were very basic and cheap. The hotel is quite far from Datca city, so you'll need a car or the hotel's transport, which comes about every hour. For the money, it's a reasonable choice for 2-3 nights, but I wouldn't stay longer.

The building has a distinctive design compared with most resort hotels. Food was above average, while service was average. Hygiene and disinfection clearly get priority. Some extra training for staff in certain areas would help.

Originally a privately owned luxury resort, this Turkish Portmerion was sold to Nidya Hotel Group in 2012 and now caters to Turkish and German package holidaymakers. The staff are friendly, and the food is just about bearable, but the place is losing its grandeur. The beach is okay, though it can get very windy.

The area itself is nice, but getting to the center takes quite a while. We also had trouble communicating, and the food and most of the staff weren't good, with a few exceptions. If I visit Datca again, I'll look for somewhere in the center.
