The team made us feel looked after in all sorts of little ways. Majeed and Mahmoud in the kitchen kept breakfast fresh and well stocked, and even served us when we got the timing wrong and arrived late one morning. Bassam helped us order food, brought it up to our room, checked that we had what we needed, and walked with us to the bus stop so we knew how to get to the airport on time. The owner was understanding when I booked the wrong month and changed our dates without a problem. They also helped us while we packed and weighed our bags near the end of the stay. Best House Hotel Old Town is right in the Old Town, with restaurants and food places nearby, so exploring Istanbul was easy. Our room was comfortable, spotless, and kept that way by the daily housekeeping. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. The whole reception team was wonderful, and we felt genuinely welcomed throughout our visit. I’d happily stay here again. Special thanks to Bassam, Majeed and Mahmoud, they deserve a promotion!

For what this place charges, the stay was a real letdown. The food was poor quality and badly prepared, and hygiene seemed lacking throughout the hotel. Service also felt unprofessional and poor. Our room had serious damp and moisture problems, along with a musty smell. It seemed unhealthy and badly maintained. I wouldn’t recommend it, and the hotel doesn’t justify its prices.

I had a good time here, but breakfast and one staff member took away a star. There wasn't much to choose from, and if you came late, little food was left. They also didn't refill it very often. Most of the staff were nice and helpful, except for one woman in the breakfast area. She was rude, and whenever I asked her something, she'd just say, “I don't know.” She wasn't helpful at all.

My mom and I paid $60 USD a night for a double and single bed after walking in, and stayed three nights. We had left a nearby rental that was horrible, so this was a decent budget option. The staff were friendly and helped with all our concerns. Nobody seemed frustrated or unwilling to assist. The fridge didn't work at all. After we moved in, we were told this was a general problem with that type of fridge, but nobody had mentioned it beforehand. The air conditioner also wasn't very strong, or may have been broken in our room. With it set to 18°C and 28°C outside, the small room was barely cool. It was cool most of the time, just not as cold as you'd expect from an AC set that low. I'd suggest booking one night at a nicer, more expensive hotel, then walking around on the first day to find a place like this with a good walk-in rate. I don't think the online price is justified, and in my opinion sites like agoda/booking aren't trustworthy. As a budget hotel, though, I recommend it if you walk in and get a good rate. Breakfast is included.

The warm atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I stayed for over a week in Istanbul and enjoyed every bit of it. One of the best hotels I've stayed at here. I'd gladly come back and recommend it to anyone visiting.
