Ozkaptan Aqua Park Otel

We came to Özkaptan on a recommendation, and this is our first time in Avşa. We vacation here at least twice a year, and we’ve really liked the hotel. We arrived at 11 a.m. and got our room key right away. I always travel with my own linens, but I’m taking them home unused. The sheets and towels were spotless, our room was cleaned daily without us asking, and the pool was spotless too. Breakfast was fantastic, with at least 30 choices each day. Any time we needed something, the wonderful staff took care of it straight away. We even felt safe leaving our nine-year-old in the room while we went out at night. It’s a bed and breakfast setup. They said we could check out and still use the pool and aqua park, which was a nice extra. My only drawback was that there was no phone in the room. We were very satisfied, and if we come back to Avşa, would we choose Özkaptan again? Definitely. Many thanks to the Özkaptan family, see you next year!

We reserved three rooms for three nights, and the rooms smelled awful from the drains. It may be a hotel issue, but there were no air fresheners or deodorizers, and the smell was nauseating. The rooms themselves were nice, but staff came in to clean even though we’d put up “Do Not Disturb” signs. There’s little point in putting those signs up if they’re going to enter anyway. The biggest concern was the master key card. Someone who lost or forgot their key could get a card that opened any room, with no staff member accompanying them. At night, someone used it to enter one of our rooms. When we raised this with staff, they didn’t apologize or respond positively. Someone in management did apologize kindly after we reported it to them. There were a lot of problems for just a three-day break, so I wasn’t very satisfied. I can’t say the staff were especially friendly either. The aqua park and clean pool were the only parts I liked.

We’d booked a month ahead, but at 1:00 PM they said it was too early for check-in and made us wait outside for an hour. When we finally checked in at 2:00, the receptionist said the IDO ferries had been canceled, there was no room, and we’d be moved to another hotel. We’d arrived on the IDO ferries anyway. 😊 They sent us to a place a few minutes away that was a one-bedroom apartment, barely a hotel by my standards. It was filthy, and during our two-night stay it was never cleaned. A man at reception kept questioning who we were every time we came and went. The day before our vacation ended, we moved again to another hotel because seats had become available. Having one place for breakfast, another for sleeping, and a third for the pool is a ridiculous setup. I’ll never choose this place again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We stayed with the family and found the hotel clean and pleasant, with everything close by. It’s in central Avşa, 100 meters from the pier and sea, and near the amusement park and restaurants. The rooms were spotless, the air conditioners worked very well, and the pool and surrounding area were cleaned and disinfected daily. A great spot for family time.
