Acet Hotel

We only stayed briefly and mainly needed a place to sleep, so it worked well for the price. The owner was welcoming, and there was parking and access to the beach.

The hotel's location is fantastic, but our stay was rough. We were three people at Acet Hotel a week ago, and the bathroom in the first suite was awful: the toilet rocked, the taps were loose and seemed close to breaking. Even a village house has a more comfortable bathroom. We were so disgusted we didn't wash there at all. I can't understand treating guests that way. The next day I told Mr. Uğur, and they moved us to another suite that was nice. Food was carelessly prepared, and service was nonexistent. Breakfast had stale bread and cheese stuck together, and things were missing. The two waiters looked exhausted and unwilling, which killed our appetite. The elevator smelled moldy; when we complained, they said they didn't know where it came from. In the morning, a strong smell of french fries ruined the lovely fresh air, and ventilation wasn't adequate. We had paid for five days, so we had little choice but to stay, though we barely made it through two.

Erdek's shopkeepers were friendly, and food and drink prices around town seemed quite reasonable. We'll return to Erdek next year, but we won't book a beachfront hotel. My advice is to find a clean apartment and eat and drink wherever you like. Our family came from Ankara to Erdek, Balıkesir, after seeing it on social media. We booked Acet Hotel for three nights because it was right on the beach. By the next morning we were unhappy and asked for a refund for the remaining two nights. The receptionist refused, even after I explained I didn't want to stay somewhere I wasn't happy with. There were no potatoes or eggs left when we went down for breakfast around 9:30, and staff said they had none. At dinner around 7:30, there weren't any spoons either. The rooms were neglected, plates were wet, and the cutlery wasn't clean. We felt humiliated despite having paid. For three nights with breakfast and dinner, two adults and two children, I paid 30,000.
