Atay

Great beach time, with the best music vibe in town. The food was delicious and the service was quality.

After a motorbike ride, my children, a friend, and I wanted somewhere to have breakfast. We picked Atay Hotel and were glad we did. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the service was friendly. Thanks, Atay Hotel 🙏

The hotel itself is lovely, and I really liked the Beach Bar’s decor and music. They usually play Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones, U2, and similar artists. The bartender was great at both service and the job itself. There are cats and dogs all over the place, which is sweet. Miço, I hope she has healthy puppies :) I stayed for two weeks, and housekeeping cleaned my room only once. I had to ask for another cleaning, and the woman did it while grumbling. Some staff, especially housekeeping, came across as disrespectful, and the waiters could be grumpy and indifferent. The food was disappointing too: many dishes came without onions, garlic, or spices, purslane with yogurt was served as an “appetizer” :), fresh dishes were mixed with old ingredients, eggs were cooked until green, and soups were reheated in the microwave. The place still has a pleasant, beautiful atmosphere and is fine to stay in, but there’s a lot of room to improve.

The bathroom didn’t meet my expectations, and I took a power bank along because reviews mentioned that some room outlets might not work. That turned out to be no issue for me. What stood out positively was the staff’s communication and service, which made us feel at home. We usually visit the seaside cafe, and this weekend we stayed overnight too. Breakfast and dinner were both very good and clean. It’s near the city center and beach, with sea-view rooms and parking. The cafe inside is priced like a regular cafe, not too expensive 🙏🏻
