I arrived in October, outside the season, and felt relaxed, almost like I was back at home in my village. The place reminded me of returning to a summer house after it had been closed through winter. It wasn’t dirty, though it wasn’t spotless either. The aunt is very kind, but talking with her children was hard, and I’d like to ask them to get hearing aids. People complaining about bugs must forget this is a green area, where flies and insects come with the territory. At this time of year it won’t suit pets or ordinary people, but it works for someone like me. I love places like this, though I can see how the culture might be difficult for visitors who aren’t used to it. I can’t say what it’s like in season.

We only needed a place to sleep for one night on the way back, and the room was made ready shortly after the previous guests left. But the sheets, room, and kitchen counter still needed attention, and we couldn’t use the dishes. We managed breakfast with an omelet in our own frying pan. The sea was a long way off, reached through neighboring gardens, and seaweed kept us from swimming. We left after a pretty uneventful night. Maybe this is useful advice. Regards.

We’re staying here now, and Mr. Bülent and Ms. Kübra have been humble and attentive hosts. It’s a peaceful choice for a family, with clear water and the sea just five minutes away. We’d happily recommend it, and we’re grateful to them.

Perihan and her son Bülent made it feel like a family place. I booked one night and ended up staying five. People want different things from a stay, of course, but this was enough for us.

I can’t give Demet Gül Guesthouse even one star. The guesthouse is filthy, nothing like the website photos, and the customer service is awful, with no concern for whether guests are satisfied. Calling it a facility feels generous; it’s more like a village house. The sea nearby is terrible for swimming, too.
