Erkin Beach Club Hotel

We went for four nights over Eid al-Adha as a family. For the price, it met my expectations. The owners had only taken over this year, and the friendly staff helped create a lovely family atmosphere with some really nice people. Breakfast and the food were excellent.

We spent five days of our Eid al-Adha break at Erkin Beach Hotel in Erdek, Balıkesir. It's right on the beach, the food is top-notch, and I felt we got every penny's worth. The cheerful, friendly staff worked hard to help with whatever we asked. It's somewhere you can feel comfortable with your family. It changed hands last year, and these comments are about Salim Abi, Cenk, and Mert. They're running the place, so you can feel assured. Every day had something wonderful about it.

It was damp-smelling, dark, and filthy, and there was no running water or water being brought in from the well. Only two or three rooms had TVs, and none of the rooms had air conditioning. The place seems to have changed hands. Almost everyone was sullen, except for the woman who cooks. It's the scariest place I've ever seen.

The one good thing is that it's right by the beach. The rooms have no balconies or air conditioning, and they aren't cleaned. There's nowhere to spread out a beach towel, and the food has very little variety. They served Turkish dumplings for dinner.
