Yeni Ornek Hotel

I liked the Turkish decor, and there was tea available whenever I wanted. The place was warm and good value, easily the best deal among the many nearby hotels I checked. It's 50 metres from the bus to the mountain, and the bus and train station are a short walk away. I can't believe a few reviews are negative. This place is excellent.

If you're a long-distance cyclist waiting for an Iran visa in Erzurum, Ornek Hotel could suit you. I've been here for a week, and the price is very competitive for the quality. The owner is helpful and friendly, and the whole staff have been kind. My single room, 401, is large, with windows on two sides. Wi-Fi works perfectly throughout the hotel. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and good, though it could be better. Most importantly, there's a safe place to park your bicycle inside. The monuments and shopping areas are all within walking distance, and the Iran 🇮🇷 Consulate is about a 20-minute walk away. Don't miss the amazing ski resort at Palandoken, 7 km to the south. It gives you a taste of Switzerland 🇨🇭 🥰🥰 Enjoy 😍😍

It's basic accommodation, about a 10-minute walk from the city center. The furnishings make the building feel like it dates from the 1960s, with old radios and a manual telephone switchboard on display in the lobby. The renovations look like they were done over a decade ago.

The rooms were okay, but breakfast was awkward. The owner came over and took two eggs off my plate, saying I was only allowed one. He was pretty nonchalant about it.
