Aymes Hotel

The good points were the polite staff, clean and spacious rooms, and polite cleaning ladies, though the staff’s English was poor. Dinner was really good, with one issue: it starts at 8 p.m., which is too late. It should be at 7pm like in all other hotels. Breakfast was the worst and poorest menu I’ve had in 8 years of travelling to Turkey. There wasn’t even a continental menu, no yogurt, and only Turkish tea with no selection of teas. Most of the choices were sweet. This hotel definitely doesn’t want foreign tourists.

The rooms are clean, cleaners come daily, and the shower and bed were lovely. It’s close to both the beach and the local parade. It’s a nice hotel, though it could use a lick of paint and an upgrade. There’s no lift, so it doesn’t really cater for disabled guests. The AC was very poor, and the WiFi only works if they turn it on.

The hotel is well connected to the city centre by dolmus, and there’s a stop nearby. The rooms were clean and renovated, and the WiFi worked throughout the hotel when it wasn’t overcrowded with guests. The food was tasty, but breakfast had too few choices and they should fix that. If you like sweet things, there are plenty of jams and creams. Dinner was much better, with a range of tasty meals. Overall, a very good hotel.

For a budget hotel, the simple accommodation is comfortable and clean, and it does what it offers well. It isn’t especially elegant, but the pool and pool area are very attractive. There’s also a popular wedding venue beside the gardens, which people have suggested could make noise for guests. We’ve stayed there several times and haven’t been bothered by it.
