We found the location convenient, with easy access to public transport and major attractions, and the room was clean and very comfortable. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional from the moment we arrived. We had an excellent stay at the Mercure Istanbul Bomonti Hotel and would definitely come back. The service, cleanliness, comfort, and atmosphere were all excellent. Highly recommend it.

The breakfast was a real highlight during our three nights at Mercure Istanbul Bomonti Hotel. It was fresh, filling, and varied, with local dishes as well as familiar international choices. Bomonti is a little away from the busiest tourist areas, which we liked for its more authentic feel, and taxis or public transport still made it easy to reach Taksim and the historic peninsula. Our room was modern, roomy, and spotless, with a cozy bed, good lighting, and a quiet atmosphere that made it easy to rest after long days out. The view wasn’t dramatic, but it gave us a nice feel for the city. The lounge and common areas were good places to relax, and the hotel felt stylish and contemporary, with a lively but laid-back vibe. From arrival, the staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely keen to help. The hotel’s comfort and cleanliness made returning after sightseeing something to look forward to. It was a relaxing stay with lots of little conveniences, and a good choice for a modern hotel in a quieter but well-connected part of the city.

On our fourth night, around 3:00 AM, I woke to a woman screaming that she didn’t feel well. In the hallway she was struggling to breathe and said toxic fumes were leaking from her refrigerator. Her three children, including a 2-month-old infant, were still in the room. She was taken to the hospital, so I brought the children to my room and stayed with them until she came back. It could have ended in tragedy, and exposing an infant to potentially poisonous fumes is beyond unacceptable. Hotels should never have such serious safety and maintenance failures. The problems had started earlier. At check-in we were unexpectedly asked for a $100 deposit per room. My first room smelled awful, and its refrigerator didn’t work, a major concern because I have a baby. The technician couldn’t fix it, and we were eventually moved to another room. This was one of the most unsafe and traumatic hotel experiences I’ve had. I’ve escalated the incident to the hotel’s directors and am waiting for an official response. Until safety checks, maintenance, and accountability are in place, I strongly advise others, especially families, to avoid this hotel.

This hotel doesn’t meet 5-star standards. The room needed maintenance, and neither the air conditioning nor the heating worked properly. The hair dryer was broken and stayed that way even after I told reception. My balcony was locked, and reception didn’t open it after I reported the issue. Breakfast was repetitive, with very few options, and wasn’t enjoyable. Housekeeping left the room open after cleaning, which is unacceptable. I also asked for ironing service, but was told I had to take my clothes to reception and collect them there. That’s not suitable for a five-star hotel.
