Sultan Palace Hotel

We ended up leaving and booking another hotel ourselves because we felt so uncomfortable. I expected more support and flexibility from the staff. The place looked very dated and nothing like the four-star standard online. Our tiny room had two broken windows and an unpleasant smell, and even the towels looked old and yellow from heavy use. We raised our concerns with reception. The receptionist was polite, but the offered solution wasn't useful: we were asked to pay extra for an 'upgraded' room that barely looked any different.

The staff were fantastic and arranged transport both to and from the airport. The room was clean, and for the budget it worked well. The bathroom is dated and has a few small problems, but it was usable. You're very close to lots of great attractions.

The rooftop terrace has a stunning view across Istanbul, which was a real highlight, and the price felt very good for a place in the heart of the old city. Our room had no window and was small. It smelled strongly of cleaning products at first, but was otherwise clean and comfortable. The welcome was warm, and staff were polite and attentive. Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are just a few steps away.

Good value for the price and a nice location. The front desk employee was amazing, and the place was cleaned every day to a 5* standard. Some small repairs would help, but overall it's a perfect choice. Highly recommend.
