Casa Margot Hotel

The restaurant is beautiful and breakfast was good, but the room was awful. The bathroom was covered in mold and had no ventilation. The walls were dirty, the room needed urgent repairs, and a power socket was coming out of the wall. I was scared I might get electrocuted. After 9 p.m. there was no hot water, just lukewarm. There wasn’t even a blanket, so we had to sleep under a sheet. What I booked on Booking looked different from the room we were given. I felt like I’d checked into a cheap hostel. Terrible.

The view was lovely, but the service ruined the whole stay. We reached the hotel at 10 pm and found nobody at reception. When a staff member eventually came, he kept chatting with a coworker instead of helping us. I asked about our bags and was just told, “the elevator.” The room smelled awful, the TV didn’t work, and the mattress was two single beds pushed together that sagged in the middle and were very uncomfortable. There was no hot water after 9 pm either. When we needed help arranging a taxi, the staff were reluctant, rude, and not helpful. It was the worst and most disgraceful service I’ve experienced.

The second night, we found a large centipede in the room. On our first night there had been many ants in the bathroom, and when we told the staff that day, they said they would try to move us the next day. That never happened. Our Classic Room also didn’t match the pictures on the official website at all. It was tiny, dim even in the morning, and not clean. At 138 euros a night, it wasn’t worth the price, since I could have booked a much better hotel for that amount. The worst hotel I’ve stayed in during my time in Turkey.

The restaurant deserves a mention, every dish we tried was delicious. The view was beautiful both in daylight and at night, and the service was impeccable, with friendly staff who noticed the little details. It felt like a dream come true. Thanks, we’ll be back!
