Sardunya Hotel

The breakfast spread was excellent, and the hotel was clean and well kept. Check-in was really pleasant too. We arrived early, so they gave us a drink and a lovely bowl of fresh fruit while we waited. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the bathroom, though small, was perfectly fine. Our room had a fridge and coffee and tea supplies, but there was barely space for a chair. The location was handy for the beach, restaurants, and shops. The listing on hotels.com says housekeeping is daily, but our room wasn't cleaned every day. The coffee and tea supplies also weren't topped up daily, which was a letdown.

The shaded pool was lovely, and breakfast had plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. The service was great too. We booked at the last minute and felt it was excellent value. The rooms are small but clean and tidy, with a fridge, safe, and balcony. The A/C only runs while you're in the room. The hotel said this was to save power, since guests might otherwise leave it on all day. Given that a nearby city had a heat-related power outage that same day, I could understand their reasoning.

The staff were really nice, and breakfast was surprisingly good for a hotel this size. The pool was a great bonus too. Rooms are on the small side, but they work fine for a beach trip. It's just a short walk to the heart of the shoreline. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area.

The biggest problem was the heat. I get that they want to save energy, but there's only one room card, so the A/C switches off when you leave. It was 41° at 9am yesterday. Even after just going down for breakfast, we came back to a greenhouse, and it was worse when we were out for the day. The breakfast room has glass all around and gets unbearably hot. There are only two outdoor tables, so we just wanted to eat quickly. They need A/C or at least some fans. Even the drinking glasses were scorching, so drinks wouldn't stay cold. The place is a decent three star hotel. Rooms were fine, despite having just one bedside table and a plug on only one side of the bed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and there are parking spaces around the hotel.
