Seckinler Suit Apart

We booked through a relative, then found out the day before arrival that our apartment had been changed to a room. The receptionist was helpful when she was around. We learned the owner’s name when we sent the payment by bank transfer, and apparently he works at the restaurant cash register. The price was good. The room was reasonably clean, with working air conditioning, TV and mini-fridge. We didn’t see any insects, and when we asked for a tea maker, they brought one. On the downside, hot water came from the toilet tap, water pooled underneath the toilet, and there was no towel rail in the bathroom. The extra bed wasn’t suitable for a tall person. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, and the ashtray hadn’t been removed. The closest beach was 8 km away. When we left, nobody offered the usual courtesy of saying they hoped to see us again.

For our family of two adults and two children, ages 2 and 6, they gave us a triple room. We pushed the beds together and had no problems during our stay. The air conditioning worked, and we ate both meals and breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. The food was good, and compared with the strange prices at other places nearby, this was the most affordable stay. Cleanliness seemed fine too. We were satisfied.

The only thing to keep in mind is the street-facing rooms, where passing cars can make noise during the day and night. It didn’t bother us at all. We paid 4,500 TL for 3 nights, which was excellent value. Karaçulha had made us hesitate, but the center is just 10 or 15 minutes away. Our room was clean and newly furnished, the bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the shower was spotless.

We stopped in on the way back for a quick home-cooked meal. The tripe and kelle paça soups were quite good, with plenty of meat, but the ground meat pide didn’t work for us. Its dough wasn’t cooked through, and the meat could have been cooked more. The place looked clean and hygienic overall, though there were lots of flies indoors and they really need to do something about that.
