Yunus Hotel

We came from Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾 Malaysia with our two small children, sulaiman & fatima, and alhamdulillah we were very happy to find this hotel. It was clean, fairly priced, and in a strategic location.

The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the hotel was excellent value for the money.

The staff made the stay pleasant. They were helpful and always smiling, and after sunset they even offered a small buffet with salt pretzels, coffee, and tea. Leaving our luggage after checkout was no problem either, and we picked it up that evening. The laundry seems to be shared with the Hotel nextdoor: you take clothes to the woman with the little shop to the right of the entrance, then collect them from reception 24 hours later. A small bag cost 600 TL (1€ ~ 34 TL). The clothes came back dried, folded, and smelling nice, with only a faint smoke smell. We expected the worst after reading the reviews, but found it good value for the little money. Our room was small and tiled, but bright, with just a slight smell of smoke. The bathroom wasn't the best looking, though it was quite clean and everything worked. The lift is pretty sketchy and has to be opened by hand, but it adds to the vibe. The location is decent, in the wider historic center of Gaziantep.

I first stayed here years ago while backpacking, and although I usually go for nicer hotels these days, I still enjoy a bit of budget travel now and then. It's a basic, clean, comfortable two-star place, and I'd stay again on my next trip to Gaziantep.
