Melissa Otel Gökçeada

We spent 3 nights here with friends. The rooms were very clean, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. It’s near Hidden Harbor and Laz Bay, but because the hotel is outside the island center, you’ll need a car to reach other villages and beaches. There aren’t many shops or restaurants nearby, as the hotel was built through a rural development project, though you can order meals from the hotel. It’s a quiet, peaceful place to stay, and the owners were kind and helpful. When they heard we were heading to the beach, they lent us a sun umbrella. One bit of constructive feedback: after leaving the main road, you drive along a dirt road, and the route could use improvement and more signs. Thank you for everything! 😇

Ms. Mehtap makes breakfast herself, and her pastries and jams are top-notch. The view is magnificent, the hotel is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are comfortable, with beds and pillows better than those at five-star hotels. The bathroom was nice too. We booked two sea view rooms for our family and were very pleased. Ms. Mehtap and Mr. Nabi built the hotel after retiring, with a wonderful vision. They were so attentive and kind that we felt right at home. To get there, use the stabilized side road opened in the village. It’s a good idea to look it up before setting out, since Google directs you onto a very steep road. We made a few suggestions during the hotel’s first year, and they’re already acting on them. It should be even better next year.

We were very comfortable here with our two children, and it’s a place families can choose with peace of mind. After four nights at Melissa Hotel in Gökçeada, we were pleased with everything and hope to see you again. Ms. Mehtap and Mr. Nabi were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is quite new, and the furnishings were spotless and tidy. Ms. Mehtap’s care with cleanliness and the delicious breakfast she prepared were especially lovely. We recommend it to visitors to Gökçeada. 🌿✨

The location was poor, up on a hill, and there are much better places to stay. The room looked nice because it was new, but cleanliness seemed neglected. The toilet seats were dirty, as shown in my photo, and the shelves and other surfaces were dusty. There was also a hair in the pastry dough at breakfast. Breakfast itself was bad. Even the tomatoes and cucumbers were chopped carelessly. It was presented as a buffet, but there were no real choices, just bowls left on the table to avoid serving. The person who welcomed us at check-in was friendly, but we didn’t speak again after that, and didn’t see them at checkout either.
