Rigani Gökçeada (+14)

It’s a great-value spot if you’re after peace and quiet. There were no children, and the whole place was calm. With a car, it’s about a 10-minute drive to anywhere. Finding the entrance was harder: you follow a long dirt road, and while nearby hotels have lit signs, it’s completely dark here. The entrance is somewhere else, so you might take a detour looking for it. A solar-powered sign would help. Two lovely women seem to handle both the kitchen and cleaning. They were very hospitable, and their cooking was delicious. Thank you both! One evening we asked about dinner, but there was no menu. They said they could make whatever we wanted. They had eggplant pastry that day, and it was incredibly delicious. Thanks to the woman who made it. My girlfriend and I stayed four nights. The room was clean, but the inside of the jacuzzi was yellow, so we didn’t use it. Breakfast was inadequate, and we used our allowance for three days. The same lemonade sat in the same place for all three days, alongside milk and fruit juice. The lemonade had already been opened and someone had poured a glass. With the same amount of lemonade there each day, we wondered whether the milk had also been open for days and was being put out again.

Mr. Aydın, thank you for adding such a lovely, quiet place to Gökçeada. The rooms are clean and the staff do their work well. Breakfast was delicious, especially the fantastic sourdough bread :)

The breakfast, pool, and comfortable beds all made us happy. Mr. Aydın was friendly and welcoming, and the staff were just as attentive and quick to help with anything. We’re hoping to spend another island holiday here next year, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s such a peaceful corner of Gökçeada. The child-free setting and location make it a great place to relax. The rooms were spotless and brand new, the view was superb, and we slept without interruption. Sitting out on the balcony was a real pleasure.

The rooms were clean and the service was just right. Don’t be put off by the distance from the center, if you have a car, the location doesn’t matter at all. Everything was great, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
