Oya made the hospitality feel especially genuine and heartfelt. Our pavilion had a stone wall and pine trees around it, so it felt very private. We loved relaxing in the pool with that incredible Aegean Sea view. The architecture fits the natural setting beautifully, too. A wonderful place to stay.

The private villas at Amanruya are comfortable and secluded, and the grounds and elegant architecture are beautifully kept. Everywhere you look, it feels like a place to slow down and unwind. The staff were warm and thoughtful, often anticipating what we needed and making even small interactions feel personal. Amanruya is tucked into nature, with a peaceful atmosphere from the moment I arrived. It made for a memorable stay, especially if you want a serene escape with excellent service.

The private beach club is an easy walk down, though golf carts are available too. I also loved having tea or espresso in the tower-like library in the evenings, looking out over the property. I couldn’t work out how to open the windows, and it got quite stuffy on warmer days. The Japanese restaurant was my one real disappointment. The fish and Japanese dishes in Turkey didn’t reach the high standard of the rest of the resort, which wasn’t too surprising. I stayed two nights in May 2024 in a Pool Pavilion Garden View. My first Aman resort set a very high bar. The architecture and natural beauty were striking, and the attentive service went beyond what I’ve had at other luxury chains. The property feels peaceful and idyllic, far from Bodrum’s loud party beaches. I enjoyed wandering the winding paths among the separate villas, olive trees, and cypresses. Everything seemed thoughtfully arranged.

The place itself was beautiful, and the dining staff took good care of us. But management felt disorganized, with repeated problems including airport arrivals, chauffeurs who didn’t speak English, and billing mistakes. Of the Amans I’d visited, this was unfortunately among the worst.

We went to Amanruya just for dinner and chose sushi in the main restaurant. There’s also a Mediterranean option. We hoped to catch the sunset, but the outdoor seating faces the other way, and the hotel sits so low that there’s barely a view. It’s a lovely spot for nature and meditation, but not if you’re after sea views or a sunset. Our meal was three rolls, two vegetarian, plus a glass of wine, water, and lemonade. The bill came to 292 euros. I knew it would be pricey, but it was still a very expensive visit, especially compared with the best sushi places in New York City, where this would have cost about $100. The staff were great, the architecture was amazing, and they even washed our car while we ate. The service was impressive, but the food prices in Turkey are crazy.
