We went to the Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum for our honeymoon in late October, near the end of Bodrum’s tourist season. Our wedding was in October, so the timing wasn’t intentional. The resort seemed caught between staying fully open and closing for the season. Only one restaurant was open, other parts were shut and covered, and most shops were boarded up. Walking around felt eerie, almost like a ghost town. Service tapered off along with the resort. The front desk and room service stayed exceptional, but dining service declined. On our last two days, we stopped getting menus and staff came to our table much less often. I can understand why it might make financial sense to keep the resort open while facilities and services wind down in October, but the experience was poor overall. The facilities are presumably very nice, and I’m sure it’s quite different in summer. It would help to clearly explain what’s available at the time of booking so guests can make an informed choice and set their expectations.

Our room was bright and so spacious, and the whole stay felt lovely and wholesome. Öykü from the Guest Experience team welcomed us and was with us throughout. She was thoughtful, professional, and kind, and we’d love to see her again when we return. The experience was great, and I’d say this is one of the best MO properties in the world. Thank you to the whole team!

Nupelda made our stay unforgettable. She took care of every detail with such warmth and professionalism, from arranging a lovely birthday surprise for my fiancé to booking activities and organizing a late checkout. The staff went above and beyond to make the birthday special, and she made everything feel seamless. We can’t wait to come back, largely because of the wonderful experience she created for us.

It was hard to leave the resort, even though I usually like exploring beyond the hotel when I travel. Everything was that amazing, and it made for a magical honeymoon. I couldn’t recommend the place more. Nupelda checked in every day, gave us great recommendations, and helped arrange reservations at restaurants around Bodrum and at the spa. Oxana and everyone on the spa and salon team were fantastic too, truly 10/10 service.

The property is beautiful, and the amenities are on another level. I can’t compare it to any other hotel in the world. Service was uneven, though. The spa and restaurant staff could be wonderful, but at the beach nobody came to take orders or help set up chairs. That wouldn’t stop me from returning. It’s a spectacular hotel in an amazing location, but service needs to be consistent throughout.
