Cappadocia Sightseeing Hotel

The owner was extremely rude and aggressive, and seemed clearly drunk. After a friend made a short visit, he called the police and falsely accused us instead of talking things through. The room was filthy, with dirty sheets, a broken hairdryer, and unacceptable hygiene. He also refused to refund the remaining nights. The whole experience was deeply distressing and felt unsafe and unprofessional. Strongly NOT recommended.

The terrace looked out over the balloons as they rose, and breakfast was superb. The owners were so gracious and helped us organise hot air balloons, an ATV, and places to eat. They made our group of 9 young girls feel safe. Thank-you so much for the stay, it was definitely worth the money.

The rooftop view in the early morning, with the balloons flying, was stunning. The hotel is also in a superb spot, close to the city, restaurants, otogar, and sunset point. They helped arrange a few tours, and we appreciated the early check-in. One catch is they only take cash. The rooms are old and dull, and cleanliness needs work. There was dust on the windows, around the bed frame and in the drawers, and the bathrooms had the same issue. Breakfast was simple but had the essentials. There isn't really a receptionist, security, or dedicated housekeeping service, and rooms have no safe for valuables. Doors use keys rather than hotel cards, so you need to lock them yourself; that wasn't a big issue for us. If you can, consider other places, though they may be booked up or expensive. I've heard cave hotels can be similar. This isn't a cave hotel, so there were no odd smells.

The people here are truly 5 star, even if the place itself isn't. We picked a ground-floor room because of our heavy luggage. Like many cave hotels, there's an old cave or sewerage-like smell, but it improves when you turn on the extractor fan and/or aircon. It's part of the old city, and it's not 5 Star. Sasha arranged our airport transfers, even after I had checked out and moved elsewhere. You can exchange money at the hotel. Breakfast is basic, but really, you don't need more. The price was very reasonable, and I'd go back anytime.
