Sevin Stone Hotel

This was the rudest hotel staff I’ve ever dealt with. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and if zero stars were an option, I’d give them that. We only planned one night, but it was New Year’s Eve and we needed to contact family and friends. The hotel advertised Wi-Fi, but it was so bad we couldn’t make a call. When we asked the owner’s daughter to fix it, she restarted the router, then got annoyed when that didn’t help. She pointed at her own phone and kept saying, “IT WORKS FOR ME.” She blamed the weather, although the Wi-Fi had worked perfectly at the hotel and restaurant we’d just come from. She also said nobody else had complained, but the hotel was empty, with no other guests in its four rooms. The room was very cold, especially the bathroom, and looked much nicer in the photos than it did in person. After 15 minutes we asked for a refund so we could move. She acted as if it were an enormous favor, repeating, “I don’t normally do this, but I will now.” We had every right to leave a cold, outdated room where we couldn’t even wish our family a Happy New Year. Before canceling, she discussed it with her mother and sister. I understand Turkish, so I heard every unpleasant thing they said about us. Her manner became so hostile that I told her the matter was already closed and asked her to stop speaking so rudely. She replied, “You speak, so I speak.” It was shocking to be met with nasty comments after politely asking about the Wi-Fi. Their English wasn’t very good either. Then she raised her voice and said, “IN 15 MINUTES YOU HAVE TO LEAVE.” I told her not to shout at me. We left within five minutes without unpacking, because we’d rather be outside in the cold than put up with that behavior. This was never really about the Wi-Fi. If the staff had treated us politely, we could have left our bags and gone to a restaurant to call our family. The sheer arrogance toward guests, especially on New Year’s Eve, made staying impossible. The rest of our time in Turkey was wonderful, but I guess there’s always a black sheep in the family, and this was it.
