Dilhan Hotel

The pool area was fine, and the bar staff were excellent, but I wouldn't return or recommend the hotel. It was noisy, with bars nearby and the hotel's own bar open until the early hours. Loud guests made it hard to sleep with the veranda door open, and I didn't want to run the filthy air conditioner, which you have to pay for. The rooms were small, with single beds and very tired decor. Towels were changed every three days or so, the bed once in 14 days, and they left just one roll of toilet paper every three days. Cleanliness was poor: dust on the bin, kettle, tops and undersides of units, the floor mopped once, and the shower room and toilet didn't seem to be cleaned during our stay. The buffet breakfast was basic, with little choice and nothing hot. There weren't any major problems with the pool area, and the bar staff were great.

The room was loud at night because of the music, and I wouldn't stay here again. The staff were nice, but the cleanliness was dismal. The bathroom was filthy, the toilet wasn't cleaned, and the sheets weren't very clean. I only showered once all week because the shower was nasty. The breakfast was just eggs, cheese and olives, which I didn't rate. Drinks in the fridge weren't complimentary, though there was no sign in my apartment saying we had to pay. Air conditioning also cost extra.

It's a quiet place, good for people who want to rest, and there were no kids during my stay. The hotel is very close to the shops. I stayed for a week, from May 18th to 25th, 2015, and would recommend it. Most of the staff were friendly despite the language barrier. The owner was humble and always smiling. Ozzy, the barman, was helpful all the time, and we met the manager once too. He was good as well.

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. It's quiet at night, and just a short walk to the main road with lots of restaurants and bars. The pool area was very clean, with floats available, but there weren't enough sunbeds for all the guests. Our room was quite dirty: my feet went black walking on the floor, there were nuts and bolts in the shower, and a tag from our loofah fell into the drain and stayed there all week. The hotel seems to care only about money. Air conditioning costs £8 a day, and it and the fridge only work while a key is in the electric slot, so you feel pushed to buy another key for £20 to keep the room and drinks cool. The bar charges 18% commission on card payments, which I only found out after my second purchase because it isn't posted anywhere. The food was awful and not worth the price. Staff were unhelpful and creepy, and made us uncomfortable all week. One night we left our key in the room and asked the supposed security guard to let us in. Instead, he walked in and told us to come inside and close the door, asking our ages and saying we were 'too young'. Later our key wouldn't work, so we got him again. He did the same thing, telling us to shut the door, but we waited outside until he came out. He claimed the lock failed because we'd left our other key in the electric slot, but when we checked after he left, it worked fine. This felt like an attempt to get more money from us, even though we'd already bought two keys, and to get inside our room. The bar manager was overfriendly and spent much more time around young girls. My friend and I have just returned and would NEVER come back.
