Fortuna Beach Hotel - All Inclusive

The food was a real highlight, fresh, tasty, and varied, among the best I've had at a hotel. Our room was spotless and looked after daily to a high standard. Everyone was kind, polite, and ready to help, and you could feel the respect they had for guests. I have no complaints and would happily return.

We booked a week for two adults and two children and were given a suite with only two beds for all four of us, so we had to sleep on the sofa. It was very difficult, and complaining to the manager didn't help. The food was poor quality, there was no water service on the beach, and the evenings weren't fun. A very bad hotel. I won't return and wouldn't recommend it.

My parents arrived on April 18 with two friends for a holiday, and all week they spoke warmly about the friendly staff, amazing food, and lovely location. On day six, my mother suffered a brain haemorrhage while having lunch. My father said the staff reacted immediately, comforted her and helped give her the best chance during the worst moment of her life. Our family will always be grateful for how they acted. My three siblings and I flew to Turkey the next day to be with our mother, and went straight to Fortuna beach to find our father. Although we weren't staying at the hotel, the staff made sure we were all right, offered drinks and cake, and ordered food for my siblings late that night. We visited our father at the hotel from Friday to Monday and were treated just as kindly. Staff kept asking how my mother was and whether there was any news, even stopping us outside the hotel to show their concern. They helped my father feel settled and comfortable, including extending his stay without hassle. My sister and I joined him at Fortuna beach on Monday, and it was hard to imagine a better place for him to be. Knowing he was being cared for by people who truly cared about my mother's wellbeing was a comfort. My father hopes to stay at least another three weeks, and I'm glad he can stay somewhere he feels comfortable and surrounded by such kind people. The hotel even changed the dining area's layout after the incident. It was a thoughtful gesture, perhaps so my father wouldn't have to relive that day each time he entered. The day was traumatic for the staff too, but they did everything they could as quickly as possible to help my mother. Without the resilience of Fortuna beach's staff, we might have lost her. Our whole family is in awe of them and will never forget their help, generosity and genuine concern. My father has four children who will be travelling in and out of the country until our mother is well enough to come home. We can't be sure he won't be alone some days, but we don't worry about that because we know he's in safe hands at this hotel. Thank you to everyone at Fortuna beach, from the bottom of our hearts. We'll always remember what you've done for our mother and wife. Our lives could have been different without you, and we'll forever be in your debt.

The pool is far too small for the hotel, and I had to be up at 4am to get a sunbed. There aren't enough beds on the beach either, so we ended up at Tiki Beach Bar. Denil there was great and always found us good front-row beds. You only really need to buy a couple of drinks, and they're happy. We ate there too and the food was very nice. A boat trip with Cheeky Bugger was excellent value, with pickup, a full day from 10am to about 4:30pm, around five stops in different bays including Turunc, soft drinks and a bit of dinner, all for 20 quid. Our room was a decent size, clean and a good standard, and housekeeping was superb. The wee maids worked hard all day. Food at the hotel was decent with something to choose, and the Sunday roast beef was excellent. Arda, Mehmet and all the waiters were superb, nothing was too much hassle, and the staff were brilliant. The location right by the beach is great. The main problem for me was the music. Our room was just above the hotel's entertainment, and although it usually stopped around midnight, it was really loud. Would I return? Probably not, mainly because of the pool size and lack of beach beds.
