Hotel Devamlı

The Love Boat restaurant attached to the hotel was a highlight, with excellent food and service. Our room, number 408 on the top floor, felt cramped because the queen bed was too big for it. There were only about 10 inches between the bed and dressing table, so even I had to turn sideways to get through. The hotel also looks a bit tired compared with when I first stayed in 2008. We had no air conditioning for the first 3 days, and once it was fixed, it only worked with the balcony door open. At least there was no charge for it.

The food, staff, service and banttar were all first class during our brilliant stay last week. The rooms could do with updating, but we had clean towels every day and the sheets were changed regularly. We’ll recommend your hotel bar and restaurant to our friends who visit your lovely country. We paid cash for 2 bottles of water instead of putting them on a bill, but the hotel later tried to charge us for them again. We refused at first, then on our last day the amount was added to our room service bill and, after an argument, we were made to pay before leaving. They said their system couldn't let an item be paid for twice, which would mean an employee had taken the cash. Either way, this was the hotel's problem. It was a small amount, but the way they handled it left us sure we won't stay again. I'd advise others to avoid it too.

The staff are lovely, but the hotel really needs updating. The shower was raised about 10 inches above the floor, and I had an accident stepping out even though I'm not elderly. The sheets and towels had holes and tears, too. I've been coming here for years, but the standards have slipped.
