The reception team were consistently helpful, polite, and supportive, and we really appreciated that. The price felt fair for the location. The room and bed were quite small for two, though, and the showerhead fell apart while we were there. The breakfast area by reception on the ground floor is also small, so at busy times some guests can’t find a seat.

The staff are what make this place. Mr. Emir is brilliant, and the team were super kind. Breakfast is home cooked, traditional Turkish food served in the lobby and kitchen area, and it was really good. They also make good coffee and tea. It’s a cheap, clean budget hotel in an old building, and I’d definitely stay again. It feels homey and family-run, especially compared with the five-star places I usually stay at. Better suited to adults and leisure travelers looking for a really good price than to kids. The hotel messaged me a few days before arrival about timing and managed to book a last-minute taxi from the airport. It was a bit hard to find on its small street, next to major walking streets and Istanbul attractions. The building’s age brings a few little room issues: you can hear people on the stairs and street, though it didn’t bother me. I was in room 104, with a double bed, two chairs, a TV, an open closet and a bathroom. Three windows brought in lots of natural light all day, the hot water was great, and everything worked. I had to leave earlier than planned because of a family emergency.

For the price, this is a very good hotel, with quality that matches what you pay. The rooms are cozy, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is comfortable. I’d gladly stay again and again.

Our stay was perfect, and the rooms had everything we needed. The hotel is close to places of interest and the bus station. Sarkan was such a welcoming, lovely host. It was our father’s birthday, and he surprised us with a little cake and delicious tea. 10/10, would recommend.
