The hotel is right in the heart of the Old City, close to everything, and the staff stayed warm and helpful throughout our visit. When we arrived at Albatros Hagia Sophia Hotel, the receptionist could tell we were tired from our flight. He offered us a room right away or the option to wait 1-2 hours for a free upgrade to a larger room with a balcony. We chose to wait, and they kindly gave us breakfast while we did. Breakfast was simple, but fresh each day. We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel, especially to first-time visitors to Istanbul.

Sultanahmet, Gülhane, and Sirkeci are all nearby, along with tram stops. Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya) is only a two-minute walk away, and you can walk to the Blue Mosque too. At Albatros Hagia Sophia, the staff were especially welcoming, polite, and glad to help. The room was basic but comfortable, with a nice bed and good sleep, while the small bathroom was clean and worked fine. A pleasant stay if you want to be near Istanbul's main historic sights.

Iroda, Dmitriy, Suchi, Kamila, Shain deserve a special thank you for the spectacular service. The hotel was clean and reasonably priced, with plenty of local food choices close by and most historic landmarks nearby. I really liked it and would stay here again if I return to Istanbul. Booking the airport transfer was a good idea for me. It cost the same as a taxi, €50, and was really nice. One side note about currency: avoid the airport “global exchange,” where they may take 40% off what you exchange. If you need local cash at the airport, wait until the lobby and use the “bank office,” where the rates are posted.

I was pleased with my four-day stay in October. My room was comfortable, clean, and surprisingly quiet, and I especially liked how friendly and helpful the staff were. The location is fantastic too. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient place to stay at good value.

The rooms were on the small side, but clean and comfortable, and breakfast was good. Ira was friendly and made sure our breakfast needs were taken care of. Salini was also friendly and wonderful, helping us with travel tips and advice on what to do and avoid. Albatros is ideally located, with all the attractions within walking distance.
