The rooms are great, with options for different group sizes, and the hotel has a nice look. The service was phenomenal, and the staff know the area well, so their firsthand walking directions were useful. The immediate surroundings aren't great, though Istanbul's amazing city center is only a short distance away. Breakfast at Almina was simple but just right to get my family and me through a full day of walking and sightseeing. I'd definitely recommend the place.

Breakfast was the highlight of my four nights here. The view was lovely, and I looked forward to eating there each morning. The staff were kind and helpful, though I was busy on my flight day and forgot to tip them. It was an easy walk, about 10 minutes, to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, with plenty of restaurants on both sides of the street. The people outside those restaurants kept trying to draw me in as I passed, which I didn't enjoy, though I suppose that's common in Istanbul. The neighborhood had several small hotels and a noticeable police presence, including surveillance patrols. It felt a little unusual, perhaps because there are construction sites everywhere right now. I hope the area improves. My room was okay, but cramped, and both the hood and air conditioning were quite loud. Still, I had a pleasant stay and would come back.

The staff made this stay feel special. They were attentive, genuinely friendly, and made me feel welcome. I also enjoyed the breakfast, with lots of choices and a beautiful view over the blue mosque. Almina Hotel is in a great spot for exploring Istanbul, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone hoping for a memorable visit.
