We paid almost $150 a day for a hotel rated four stars, but our experience felt like two stars. It's also at the top of a hill, so getting to public transport means walking up and down each time. Unless you're booking the penthouse suite overlooking the sea, I wouldn't recommend it. At that price, an Airbnb would be much better. We were disappointed with our stay at Ansen suites. Room 110 had AC near the entrance that barely cooled the room. The bathroom knob was broken, so the door couldn't be locked from inside. There was a foul smell in the bathroom, worse without a dehumidifier, and the shower had no door, leaving water on the rest of the bathroom floor. We complained several times and were told a technician would come, but nobody showed up and nothing was fixed during our stay. They also promised us another room, but that never happened. We had already paid in full, but left a day early. Breakfast was average, with burnt-tasting coffee and a limited variety of food.

We lost two hours looking for another place and ended up paying double. Our advance payment for the room still hasn't come back. I'm disappointed and wouldn't wish this situation on anyone. At reception, we were told they couldn't give us a room because some guests hadn't checked out. We had reserved a 50 sqm apartment with a view, but they offered us a room in a neighboring hotel that was 12 sqm and had no view.

I didn't stay in a suite, but I dropped off my luggage and the staff were extremely helpful. The location is prime, just one minute from the metro. You enter through one of the pubs, and the sign is small, but the place is real.

The staff were all really friendly, and check-in was easy. It's a lovely room, with easy access to the nearby train station and tourist strip. Highly recommend.

We meant to stay two nights, but added three more because we liked it so much. The suites are huge, stylish, and very comfortable, with far more space than an average hotel room. Our room service breakfast was a real treat, and we loved the cozy pub downstairs. The team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They offered excellent local recommendations and even made reservations for us. It's central but quiet, and now our go-to place in Istanbul.
