Hotel Artefes

We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly recommend this hotel. The location was convenient, the rooms were comfortable, clean, and well looked after, and the staff were professional, friendly, and ready to help. Shopping around Fatih left me disappointed. A few merchants quoted prices that seemed far above what similar items cost elsewhere, sometimes by several times, so compare prices before buying. I associate this historic district with Islamic culture and heritage, where fairness and honest dealing matter, and some of the practices I encountered didn’t seem to reflect those values. Artefes Hotel itself was enjoyable. It has friendly staff, a good location, and easy access to Istanbul’s historic attractions. Just take care when shopping nearby.

The hotel’s rooftop terrace has lovely views, and the location is fantastic, about a five-minute walk from Sultanahmet Square and the main sights. Even so, the area just south of the very busy old city centre was surprisingly quiet. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. The rooms were a good size and clean, with very comfortable beds, a kettle, private facilities, plenty of hot water, and strong shower pressure. There’s a lift, which is a plus, but it only serves the ground, first, and second floors. The breakfast room and balcony suite are on the third floor, so you have to climb a flight of stairs to reach them.

Özgür deserves a special mention for being so friendly, attentive, and professional. He helped with everything and took great care of our needs, making us feel comfortable throughout the visit. Employees like him really add to a hotel’s quality, and his service will be one of the main reasons we choose this hotel if we visit again. We enjoyed our stay, and the service and cleanliness were excellent. Thank you for everything.
