Asmali Pera Hotel

The food and drinks downstairs were very good, and since the owner also owns the bar and restaurant, we got a generous discount when we ate or drank there. The hotel is close to many Istanbul attractions, with walking, the metro, tunnel, and taxis all available for getting around. The rooms are a good standard for the price, and we felt like family from the moment we arrived. One thing to know: the only entrance and exit is by stairs, so it isn't suitable for people with disabilities. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a break in Istanbul.

The location was perfect if you want bars and restaurants nearby, and the staff were kind. But the room was so tiny you could barely get out of bed, and it was filthy and full of insects. The breakfast was a joke. One of my worst experiences. A disaster.

The staff were friendly, but that was about it. They agreed to every request and then didn't follow through on any of them. The location was great, with easy access to Istiklal ave, but the rooms were awful: too small, with double beds barely wide enough for one person or a couple in the first week of a relationship. Breakfast was scant, the floor was dirty, and the bath wasn't really a bath.

The rooms were cheap and clean, and there was free Wi-Fi, but they had almost nothing in them: no closet, safe, drawers, or even tissues. Getting to the elevator meant climbing a lot of stairs, which was annoying. The location is great, close to Isteghlal street, the metro, and the main streets, and the staff were friendly and well-mannered. There's a cafe below the hotel that plays music very loudly from night until morning. You won't be able to sleep.
